REAL ESTATE

We represent owners and purchasers in the acquisition and disposition of commercial properties as well as ownership issues related to commercial properties.

We represent lenders in workouts and foreclosures, stabilizing of REO properties, drafting deeds, easements, notes and mortgages, and other real estate documents.

We also represent buyers and sellers in the purchase and sale of residential real estate, assisting them from purchase agreement through closing to ensure the process goes smoothly.

BUSINESS

We represent business owners with business formation, sale and purchase of membership interests, drafting of operating agreements, asset purchase agreements, confidentiality, non-disclosure and non-compete agreements, contract drafting and review, and other business transactions.

LANDLORD/TENANT

We represent residential and commercial landlords and commercial tenants with leasing, renewals, evictions, lease disputes, rent escrow and security deposit claims, as well as the acquisition and disposition of rental property.

CREDITORS RIGHTS

We represent businesses and lenders in secured and unsecured collection of their debts. This includes collection litigation, foreclosures actions, replevins and repossessions, garnishments and levies, judgment domestication, and receivership actions.

We also represent creditors in all facets of bankruptcy matters including filing proofs of claim; reviewing and objecting to bankruptcy plans; filing motions for relief from the automatic stay; and prosecuting and defending adversary proceedings

About Jeffrey Kalniz

Jeff Kalniz has been licensed to practice law in Ohio since 1996 and has handled matters for clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies. Jeff has significant experience in the area of real estate law, both residential and commercial, as well as creditor’s side bankruptcy, commercial collections, landlord/tenant, and corporate and other business matters. In the foreclosure area he has handled a variety matters, ranging from the representation of creditors in single family residential foreclosures to the foreclosure, stabilization and disposition of large shopping centers, apartment complexes, class A office buildings and industrial properties for institutional clients and SBA lenders.

Jeff received his Juris Doctor in 1996 from the Illinois Institute of Technology/Chicago-Kent College of Law. Before that he received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the Ohio State University. He was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1996 and was thereafter admitted to practice for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit.
